Bamboo MediaCasting Adds Symbian 9 OS
Leader in Mobile Rich-Media Delivery Increases Reach of SilverStripe Solution

 Bamboo MediaCasting, the leading mobile content delivery solutions provider, today announced the extension of it's SilverStripe solution into the Symbian 9 to fully support Symbian Series 60 v3 and UIQ 3 platforms. Supported devices include the Nokia N series and E series, Sony Ericsson UIQ 3 (P990, M600, w950), and more.
Bamboo MediaCasting's SilverStripe is a white-label solution that allows carriers or service providers to provide a channel-based subscription service to their users. Users can enjoy rich audio and video content such as television programs, movie trailers, professional or user-generated video clips, music, news and other long or short digital content. Optimized for simple handset viewing, the solution leverages a unique "Push-Store-Play™" mobile technology for dynamic content delivery to mobile phones with no user intervention, delivered completely in the background.

The SilverStripe service, already deployed by a Tier-one mobile operator in Europe, utilizes existing mobile networks and facilitates economic off-peak delivery to minimize network congestion, data costs, and disruption to traditional phone usage. The service provides episodic viewing of rich media content including news, video podcasts and music for users. The channel-based subscription model allows subscribers to select the content they desire, and then enjoy the full-track media on their mobile phones without browsing or network connection. Users are notified when new material arrives and has been stored. With one click the rich-media can be played anytime, anywhere.
